HDR Photography Positano Sunrise. The morning sunlight peaking over the jagged shoreline in Positano is one of those mental images that will stick with you far beyond your stay. I took this shot from one of the balconies along the main road in town. Positano has quickly become one of my favorite places in Italy, and it isn’t hard to understand why. The town is a photography gold mine with hundreds of opportunities for beautiful coastal shots. It’s no wonder that thousands of people from all over the world flock to this same spot for a taste of what’s known as “The Pearl of the Amalfi Coast.” In Positano, much like many other places in Italy, color is celebrated and even encouraged! The colorful Italian villas and the vibrant umbrellas on the beach made for an interesting counterpart to that amazing sunrise that I was lucky enough to capture. There are so many shots that I’d still like to get of Positano, I guess that means that I’ll have to return one day. I can’t wait! View Image Here!

Post Processing & Camera Settings.

To capture this image, I took three bracketed shots EV (-2, 0, +2) and combined them into Lightroom. Next, I used the Creative Flow Lightroom Presets and Brushes. Finally, I combined the RAW file and my Lightroom version in Photoshop to finalize the shot.
