Landscape Photography “Long Exposure Black Sand Beach”
Landscape Photography “Long Exposure Black Sand Beach” – It was a ghostly, grim day and we found ourselves traveling to Black Sand Beach in Iceland. This beach is one of those unique places where it’s beauty is derived from it’s stark/monochromatic landscape rather than the usual lush, thriving images that comes to mind when you think of the word beach. To add to the mood of the location, I decided to use my “big stopper filter” to achieve a super long exposure. This had its inherent risks as there was an abundance of mist in the air from the waves crashing on the shore. At first, I wasn’t happy with the shot as the mist left water speckles on the lens/filter which came through in the image, but I eventually realized that it added more to the scene than it took away.
