HDR Photography – Roaming in Rome
“Roaming in Rome” – Here’s a shot that I took in Rome, Italy. Just above Piazza del Popolo is the perfect lookout where you can catch the sun setting behind the Cupola of St. Peter’s Basilica! This photo was taken on a path that’s located just behind the lookout point. I decided to take a walk through this garden while I was waiting for the city lights to come on. I love the way that the pathway and benches frame the shot and bring your eye to the center of the photo. The scene reminded me a little of Central Park.
Post Processing “Roaming in Rome” – I took three bracketed shots EV (-2, 0, +2) and combined them in Lightroom to create an HDR image. Then I used Lightroom on a single exposure (EV, 0) to create a couple of different creative versions. Next, I combined the original three EV (-2, 0, +2) RAW files into Photomatix to create another HDR version. Finally, I blended all my “versions” into Photoshop to get the final image!
