HDR Photography – Road to the Midnight Sun

HDR Photography – Road to the Midnight Sun. Route 1, also known as the “Ring Road” is the major highway that circles the entire country in Iceland. During our trip this past summer, we used this highway to get around as it connects most of the inhabited parts of the country. As we drove from location to location, I realized that this two-lane highway was just as interesting as the rest of the scenery. When you get out to the more remote areas, there are many designated places where you can park and snap some cool road shots. To be honest, I don’t remember exactly where this location was, but the way that the road was disappearing into the midnight sun caught my eye and I had to grab the shot. View Image Here!

Post Processing & Camera Settings.

To capture this image, I took three bracketed shots EV (-2, 0, +2) and combined them into Lightroom. Next, I used the Landscape Presets and brushes from the Creative Flow Lightroom Presets to bring out some subtle details. Finally, I combined the RAW file and my Lightroom version in Photoshop to finalize the shot.
