Blending Light HDR Photography – Positano at Night: Here’s a photo that I took in Positano, Italy. If you like stairs and amazing architecture, Positano is definitely the place to go! The city is known as the jewel of the Amalfi Coast, and you only have to take one look at the scenery to understand why. Blue hour is a special time in Positano. The sun goes down, the lights come up and beautiful scenes start to emerge all over the city. The streets of Positano are stacked among the mountains and they give you the perfect vantage point for larger landscapes shots. I stumbled upon this spot on my way back to my hotel. This photo is a bit of a “Where’s Waldo” for me in that there’s so much to look at. For the edit, I really wanted to bring out all the little details, so I paid extra attention to the little things like the boats rocking in the bay and the other little towns that are visible off in the distance. Post Processing & Camera Settings.

To capture this image, I used my FE 16-35mm F4 ZA OSS. I took three bracketed shots EV (-2, 0, +2) and combined them in Photoshop/Luminosity Masks. Next, I used the Creative Flow Lightroom Presets and Brushes to process my middle exposure (0). I also used Luminars AI feature (Artificial Intelligence) to bring out some detail in. Finally, I mixed all my “versions” into Photoshop to get the final image!
