Astro Photography | Singularity – I’ve named this photo after the concept of Singularity. The Singularity Theory states that at the center of a black hole there is a place where all matter and gravity become infinite and the laws of physics no longer apply. The black hole sucks all matter and light towards it. The point of no return is called the event horizon, and once you’ve passed this threshold, there’s no going back! We have our own black hole at the center of the milky way galaxy and it’s theorized that we are slowly revolving around it. While post-processing this photo I was thinking about what it would look like if this process was sped up and we were being helplessly sucked towards it. It’s a grim thought, I know, but I figured there would be some Elon Musk fans/astro-phtographers (“They’ve gone to plaid” – Space Balls) out there that would share my enthusiasm for the edit! Haha! This is one of my favorite photos that I’ve done to date! I will be adding it to my fine art collection that I’m currently creating behind the scenes. See the high-quality version here.

Post Processing & Camera Settings.

To process this image, I used the Presetpro Creative Flow Lightroom Presets, Profiles, and Brushes (I used Lightroom Profiles included in The Creative Flow to color grade this image). Next, I created a copy of this image in Luminar and to add a little glow effect. Finally, I imported all images into Photoshop to blend and do a little sharpening.
