HDR Photography | New York, New York

If you’ve been following the blog for the last 5 years, you may have seen this image before! Every so often I pluck an image from my RAW file library and re-master it to either improve upon it or simply change the look and feel of the edit. This particular image was taken in NYC and I felt that it deserved a quick refresh. While setting up this shot, I spent about 5 minutes waiting for the perfect moment to capture a yellow taxi in motion against the backdrop of the Empire State Building. Since New York is filled with taxi cabs, I didn’t have to wait long before I was able to capture what I had envisioned. For the edit, I took more of a subtle approach this time and chose to focus on the finer details in the shot.

Post Processing & Camera Settings.

To process this image, I used the Presetpro Creative Flow Lightroom Presets, Profiles, and Brushes to (I used Lightroom Profiles included in The Creative Flow to color grade this image). Next, I created a copy of this image in Aurora HDR and used the Presetpro Aurora HDR Presets. Finally, I used Photoshop to sharpen the image.
