Creative Flow Lightroom Preset – Dynamic iii

Today I’m going to be talking about the dynamic Lightroom presets that are available in Presetpro’s premium collection, The Creative Flow. I’m a writer/photographer with a style blog Style by Clark Martin where I share my passion for interior design, travel and photography. I use the Creative Flow when I want to add something special to my photos. First, let me tell you a little bit about this shoot. On my blog I have a series called “Street Chic” where every week I photograph and feature a stylish local shop. This week I visited Pure Home Couture, a Paris inspired department store that sells candles, soaps and antiques. The lighting in the store was absolutely beautiful with windows and chandeliers galore! This particular shot of a Louis XIV chair was taken with the light from the windows in the background. What you didn’t see is the less than lovely staircase that would have been in the background should I have taken the shot at a different angle. As you can see from the before shot below, I was left with was a dark photo with muted colors and too many shadows.

What’s a girl to do you ask? Well, I imported the photo into Adobe Lightroom and I played around with some of the presets from the Creative Flow. I wanted a preset that would boost the shadows, add depth and infuse some color into my otherwise dull shot. When I opened up the dynamic section and hovered over some of the presets, the photo started to come alive in my navigator. I knew I had found the right presets to save this shot. I ended up choosing the “Dynamic iii” preset. I loved the warm and crisp results that it provided. With a small adjustment to my exposure, I was happy with the final results. I find that presets are extremely helpful when you get stuck on what to do with a photo. Sometimes it can be the difference between saving a shot and letting it fall to the cutting room floor.
