Creative Edit – Catching Ferries by Tim Martin

I know this looks like a spot where you might run into a “magical fairy” but I’m not talking that type of fairy 🙂 Here’s a shot I took last summer in Tobermory Canada late in the evening. This cozy little hut/shack nestled in the trees is actually a Ferry ticket booth… hence the title “Catching Ferries”. After heading home from photographing a nearby lighthouse, I happened to walk past this picturesque little scene. I consciously said to myself “just take one more shot” and I am happy I did. Post processing, I really wanted to capture the “warmy-ness” and humid atmosphere. To capture this image I took three bracketed shots EV (+2, 0, -2).

Post Processing: First I combined the three exposures in Lightroom to make an HDR image then I created an HDR in Photomatix… Next I created a couple of images using Lightroom and finally I took all my samples (about 4 images) and mixed them in Photoshop.
