Landscape Photography – Pillars and Light
Pillars and Light – Here’s a photo that I took in Venice, Italy. This shot of St. Mark’s Campanile (tower) is one of my favorite photos from Venice. I made sure that I photographed this square from dusk til dawn, haha! At night, the square is bustling with Venetian locals and tourists alike as they come together to enjoy the ambiance and the nightly live orchestras. In the morning, you will find a different scene. The square is empty and there’s a quiet, almost peaceful atmosphere. I got up before the sun rose and made my wave down to the shore. I was lucky enough to get a healthy number of clouds that morning. The rising sun highlighted the clouds creating an array of colors, which gave me tons to work with while post-processing. Post Processing
Post Processing “Pillars and Light” – I took three bracketed shots EV (-3, 0, +3) and combined them in Lightroom to create an HDR image. Next, I used Luminar Photo Editing software from MacPhun to create another “glowing” version of this photo! Finally, I mixed all my “versions” into Photoshop to get the final image!
