HDR Photography – Painting The Town Amsterdam
HDR Photography “Painting The Town Amsterdam” – Here’s a shot that I took in Amsterdam, Netherlands. While visiting this beautiful city, I had many opportunities to capture “nightscape” photos on the canals. However, during the day it was mostly overcast. I would catch a short glimpse of the blue sky for a second or two, but never long enough to take a shot. To add a little more interest to the photo, I decided to play with a “painted layer” that I created in Photoshop using the oil paint feature. If you look closely, you will notice the brush strokes it in the clouds and in the water! Hence the name, “Painting the Town” 🙂
Post Processing “Painting The Town Amsterdam” – I took three bracketed shots EV (-2, 0, +2) and combined the them in Lightroom to create an HDR image. Then I used Lightroom on a single exposure (EV, 0) to create a couple of different creative versions. Next I combined the original three EV (-2, 0, +2) RAW files into Aurora HDR and also Photomatix to create another two HDR versions. Finally, I blended all my different “versions” into Photoshop to get the final image!
