Montmartre in Paris. Le Consulat is a historic Café in Paris’ Montmartre neighborhood dating all back to the 19th century. It has stood in the exact same place for years and was frequented by many famous artists such as Toulouse-Lautrec and Picasso. With so much rich culture and history surrounding the café, it’s no wonder that it has survived the test of time. Art and culture have a way of withstanding scores of generations. When I visited Paris this was one of my top priority shots. We happened to arrive on a night where there were little to no tourists in the area, which is rare. Standing on the cobblestone sidewalk with my tripod set up I imagined the same scene years ago. French women and men dressed in their best enjoying a glass of wine and discussing their various art pieces and commissions. It felt magical and I felt lucky to have the opportunity to experience and photograph such an important staple of French history.
