Each preset is crafted to give the modern photographer beautiful, Fujifilm inspired color, right inside Luminar NEO.

Fujifilm inspired film emulation for Luminar NEO: 35 presets built from film inspired 3D LUTs and Luminar’s own Film Grain tool, so you can dial the look and the grain after you apply it.

Inspired by the color science of Fujifilm color negative and slide films. The looks inspired by Astia 100F and Superia 400 are new in this update, and sit alongside the looks inspired by PRO 160, Velvia, Provia and Fortia and the Negative looks inspired by Fujifilm color negative film. Each film look comes as a family of five: the standard look, + and + film variations, and + cool and + warm shifts of the color balance.

Every preset applies to RAW and JPEG files and lands in Luminar’s Edits panel as a normal stack: the Mood tool holding the film look with an Amount slider from 0 to 100, and the Film Grain tool already applied. Turn either one down, up, or off. The look inspired by Superia 400 carries more grain than the look inspired by Astia 100F, the way a faster film should.

Which Fujifilm inspired look to choose

Tone and color below describe what each standard look does to your photo, measured on the preset itself at its saved strength, not a claim about the film it is named after.

  • Inspired by PRO 160Slightly brighter midtones, gentle contrast, and neutral, slightly quieter color, with reds and skin tones kept close to your original. Try it for: Portraits and everyday color.
  • Inspired by VelviaBrighter midtones, crisp contrast, a cool cast and richer color, especially in the blues. Try it for: Landscapes and bold scenery.
  • Inspired by ProviaBrighter midtones, gentle contrast, slightly warm midtones and a little extra in the blues. Try it for: Travel and everyday scenes.
  • Inspired by Astia 100FThe brightest midtones and the strongest contrast of the seven film looks, with rich color and vivid blues. For soft color, start with the look inspired by PRO 160 instead. Try it for: Bright, graphic scenes that can take bold color.
  • Inspired by FortiaBrighter midtones, gentle contrast, a near neutral balance, a touch more color, and skin tones that stay close to your original. Try it for: A light touch on portraits and travel.

These are presets for Luminar NEO only, not for Lightroom or Photoshop. If you own the 2022 version of this collection, Luminar will not refresh it: delete the Presetpro FUJ Film collection in Luminar, add the new file, then restart Luminar.

How do I install this collection in Luminar NEO?

Double-click the .lnpc file (unzip it first if your download is a .zip), or in Luminar NEO open Presets, go to Purchased and choose Add. It installs as the Presetpro FUJ Film collection under Purchased. Updating from an earlier version? See question 6 first.

Do the presets work on RAW and JPEG files?

Yes. Every preset is a Luminar preset built from a 3D LUT and Luminar’s own Film Grain tool, so it applies to any photo Luminar can open, RAW or JPEG, and every slider stays editable after you apply it.

How do I adjust the strength of a look?

Apply the preset, then open the Mood tool in the Edits panel, where the Fujifilm inspired film look sits, and move its Amount slider from 0 to 100. Film Grain has its own tool, so you can raise, lower or switch off the grain.

What do +, + film, + cool and + warm mean?

Each film look comes as a family of five. The standard look is the starting point, + is a second take on the same look, and + film is a third that, on most of the looks, lifts the blacks for a faded print feel. + cool and + warm are versions that shift the color balance. The quickest way to choose is to compare their live thumbnails in Luminar’s Presets panel.

What is the difference between the looks inspired by Fortia, Provia, Velvia and Astia 100F?

The look inspired by Fortia is the lightest touch, with gentle contrast and skin tones that stay close to your original. The look inspired by Provia has a little more contrast, slightly warm midtones and a little extra in the blues. The look inspired by Velvia adds crisp contrast, a cool cast and richer color. The look inspired by Astia 100F is the brightest and boldest of the four, with the strongest contrast and the most color. For soft color, start with the look inspired by PRO 160.

I own the 2022 version of this collection. How do I update?

Luminar does not refresh a collection it already has installed. Delete the Presetpro FUJ Film collection in Luminar, add the new .lnpc file, then restart Luminar. The collection keeps its name and gains the looks inspired by Astia 100F and Superia 400. Five kept presets also look noticeably different, because PRO 160, PRO 160 +, Velvia and Fortia, all inspired by Fujifilm films, were cleaned up to a single LUT, and PRO 160 + cool now has grain.

Does it work on Mac and PC?

It should. The .lnpc format installs on Mac and Windows, and the 2022 version of this collection works on PC. This release was built and tested on Luminar Neo 1.26.1 on the Mac; if anything looks different on your PC, get in touch and we will sort it out.

Are these the same as the film simulations built into my camera?

No. They are Luminar NEO presets inspired by Fujifilm films, not the built-in film modes of any camera, and they work on photos from any camera Luminar NEO can open, RAW or JPEG.
